Sabina, New Vienna students graduate from D.A.R.E. program

SABINA, Ohio — Students at Sabina Elementary and New Vienna Elementary recently celebrated their graduation from the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program during ceremonies held the week of May 23.

The program, taught by deputies from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, focuses on helping students make safe and responsible decisions, resist peer pressure and develop skills to avoid drugs, alcohol and violence.

During the graduation ceremonies, students were recognized for successfully completing the curriculum and demonstrating their understanding of the lessons presented throughout the school year.

As part of the celebrations, selected students received special recognition for their participation and achievements in the program. Prize bicycles were also awarded during the events.

Representatives from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office attended the graduations to congratulate students on their accomplishments. The events highlighted the partnership between local law enforcement and area schools in promoting positive decision-making and healthy lifestyles among young people.

The D.A.R.E. program has been a longstanding educational initiative in schools across Ohio and the nation, providing students with tools to navigate challenging situations and make responsible choices.

Officials praised the students for their hard work and commitment throughout the program and encouraged them to continue applying the lessons they learned as they move forward in their education.
