The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office accepts applications for employment for various positions within the Sheriff’s Office.
Requirements for employment consist of the following: Maintain a valid Ohio drivers license; abilitiy to read and understand departmental policy, rules, instructions, laws and regulations; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; ability to exercise sound judgement; ability to make reasonable decisions; ability to operate related tools and equipment; ability to work in stressful conditions and possible hostile environment; ability to remember details and handle sensitive contacts with the public; ability to work various shifts and holidays. Felony convictions and disqualifying criminal histories are not allowed.
Road Patrol applicants must have completed the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy; Corrections Officers must complete Corrections Training as a condition of employment.
Minimum qualifications required are: Must be 19 years of age at the time of employment; high school diploma, GED or equivalent; must be physically capable of performing all duties for the position; must be U.S. citizen; must be able to read and write the English language; must be of good moral character and of good temperate.

Items to be included with application:
- Copy of diplomas from High Schools and Colleges attended
- Copy of Military form DD-214, if applicable
- Copy of valid Ohio Drivers License
- Copy of Birth Certificate
- Copy of certificates from specialized training courses
